ACEA

ACEA 16 is a well-known vehicle manufacturer, such as Volkswagen or Mercedes-Benz. It modernizes and processes different engine oil classes (such as ACEA A3/B4) that have certain requirements in some oils. These categories describe the suitability of each type of engine oil for use with certain engine types or some exhaust aftertreatment technology.

Smooth circulation oils

SMOOTH CIRCULATION OILS ARE MOTOR OILS AND VEHICLE TRANSMISSIONS THAT DURING OPERATION – AS OPPOSED TO 15W-40 ENGINE OILS OR CONVENTIONAL 80W-90 TRANSMISSION OILS – SAVE FUEL AND PROVIDE BETTER ENGINE INITIATION WHEN OPERATING IN THE ULTRA-LOW TEMPERATURE RANGE AND ACCELERATE THE FULL LUBRICATION TIME OF THE VARIOUS MOTION UNITS, THANKS TO THE LOWER FRICTION RATE. THESE ARE KNOWN AS FUEL-SAVING OILS, OR FUEL ENERGY ACTIVATION OILS. THE FRICTION RATE CAN BE REDUCED BY LOWERING THE VISCOSITY, USING SOME SYNTHETIC ESSENTIAL OILS AND/OR ADDING ADDITIONAL FRICTION-REDUCING MATERIALS. REQUIREMENTS FOR SMOOTH CIRCULATION OILS: ACEA SPECIFICATION: A1, B1, C1, C2 OR API IN RELATION TO EC REQUIREMENTS.

Add-ons

Additives are oil-soluble substances, which are added to mineral oils, their products and synthetic oils. As these additives are precisely adapted to the types of oils, the properties of lubricants, fuels, heating fuels, etc. change. This change in physical or chemical properties results in a significant improvement in your engine oil, for example.

LIMITED SLIP (LS)

Limited slip active materials are used in hypodical transmission oils for limited-slip differentials, automatic transmission oils and track lubricants.

Limitation

Unwanted chemical change in metal products, etc...
Lycia (e.g. lubricants, fuels) during use and during storage, is called obsolescence. This process occurs by the influence of reactions with oxygen (the formation of peroxides and hydrocarbon chemical radicals). Heat, light, metal catalysts and other dirt accelerate the oxidation process. In this process, acids and impurities are formed. The aging rate slows down under the influence of aging protective materials – antioxidants

Low SAPS Oil

The abbreviation SAPS consists of the initials of the English terms sulfur ash, phosphorus and sulfur. Low-SAPS engine oil is therefore an oil that contains very low proportions of sulfur ash, phosphorus and sulfur. Because of their low tendency to ash formation, such oils are also called low-ash oils. While the requirement to use a few ash additives to create a modern engine oil seems simple, developing such an engine oil is a real challenge for all lubricant producers.

Old oil

Used lubricant that has become unsuitable for reuse as a special lubricant due to obsolescence, dirt, etc., may apply to dependent lubricants, but is still usable, for example, when lubrication is lacking. The old concept of oil under the law includes wastes of used semi-liquid or liquid materials consisting wholly or partly of mineral or synthetic oils, including residues of oil-containing containers, emulsions, and water-oil mixtures. There are six groups of old oils, which are collected and stored separately.

LSPI IGNITION

THE LSPI SYSTEM INVOLVES SUDDEN UNWANTED IGNITION OF THE FUEL-AIR MIXTURE BEFORE THE REAL IGNITION TIME, WHICH CAN RESULT IN ENGINE DAMAGE. THIS PHENOMENON IS MOSTLY SEEN IN ENGINES THAT ARE SUBJECTED TO EXTREME LOADS AND HAVE A SMALL VOLUMETRIC CAPACITY, YET NOT ALL VEHICLE MANUFACTURERS ARE EQUALLY EXPOSED. USING HIGH-QUALITY LUBRICANTS, ALONG WITH SOME STRUCTURAL MEASURES, CAN HELP AVOID UNWANTED EARLY IGNITION.

Mineral Processing Oils

These oils should be divided as follows:

Mineral processing oils for metalworking: It is a general term that includes cutting, grinding, drilling, polishing, milling oils, and others. There are types that can be mixed with water and others that do not mix with water. The standard description of this is also "cooling lubricants". The basic tasks are also different depending on the use: lubrication, cooling, reducing friction, corrosion, moving the reich, protecting against rust,... Etcetera.

Mineral processing oils for metalworking purpose: It is an umbrella term for process oils, coloring oils, drawing oils, deep drawing oils, cold flow pressure oils,... Etcetera.

These are only available in a form that is not mixable with water. The basic tasks here are also different depending on the use: lubrication, friction reduction, corrosion, rust protection, cooling,... Etcetera.

barrel

The barrel is a universal capacity gauge. This unit of measurement has been used since the beginning of petroleum production in the mineral oil sector. In the past, wooden herring barrels were used after cleaning and filled with oil. The carrying capacity of these barrels was exactly 158.99 liters. Although a standard barrel of oil currently holds about a third more oil than the old capacity, the unit of measurement 1 barrel is still worth 42 US gallons, equivalent to 159 liters.

Multi-field engine oil and transmission

It is a lubricant that has a very good thermal viscosity behavior that serves the purposes of use throughout the year in motor vehicles.

Primary oil

Primer or base oil is the primary ingredient in lubricant products. These can be, for example, engine and transmission oils, as well as lubrication grease. The type and amount of base oil in question is determined by the purpose of using the lubricant. This lubricant is determined based on various factors to measure oil change given viscosity, oxidation resistance, friction behavior, and additives used.

Mineral oil

Mineral oil products are liquid distillation and refining products obtained from petroleum mineral ore.

Pranks

Blending refers to the mixing of mineral oil products and additives. This process is called "batch blending" if the mixing process is carried out in a tank or boiler. Continuous mixing in automatic mixers or when the finished product is added at the filling stage, it is called "linear blending".

Motor Oil

Used for the purpose of lubricating bearings, engine, cylinders and valve drive group in combustion engines.

Brake fluid

IT IS A HYDRAULIC FLUID SPECIFICALLY FOR COMPOUNDS, AND THE BASIC FLUIDS USED MOSTLY ARE POLYGLYCOLATES, BORATE STEARATES AND GLYCOL STEARATE. THE FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARDS SYSTEM (FMVSS) WITH DOT (TRANSPORTATION SECTION) VALUES IS USED AS A PERFORMANCE CLASS. THERE IS ALSO A CLASS CLASSIFICATION ACCORDING TO ISO-4925 AND JIS K 2233.

NLGI CLASSES

THE NLGI CLASS CHARACTERIZES THE DEGREE OF STIFFNESS OF LUBRICATING GREASE. LUBRICATING GREASE IS DIVIDED INTO CERTAIN COHESION CLASSES ACCORDING TO THE NATIONAL LUBRICATING INSTITUTE (NLGI) SCALE. FOR THE PURPOSE OF DETERMINING PENETRATION AFTER MIXING, A 5-SECOND CONFORMING CHECK FUNNEL CAN BE INSERTED INTO THE GREASE SAMPLE UP TO 25 °C AND SUBJECTED TO STRESS (WORK), AND THE INPUT DEPTH CAN BE MEASURED IN 1/10 MM. BY INCREASING THE DEPTH OF INSERTION, THE GREASE IS SOFTER.
